“Hockey Night in Brantford keeps evolving, and this year we’re pleased to introduce new partnerships, new festivities, another dynamic roster and a jam packed evening of hockey celebration unlike any other in our community,” said MP McColeman.

Over its first four years, Hockey Night in Brantford has raised $368,000 to support those in need across the Brantford-Brant community.  Proceeds from this year’s game promise to transform the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund; which today announced that its partnership with Hockey Night in Brantford, along with the support or organizations like the Burford Lions Club, will for the first time enable the charity to offer its full range of funding and services to residents of the County of Brant. Applications will be accepting starting in January, 2017.
August 10th will be a special day for the organization in more ways than one, as Hockey Night in Brantford will honour and pay tribute to the late Arnold and Jean Anderson; tireless community leaders whose passion and dedication has helped allow thousands of children to benefit from the work of the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund Charity.

“We are incredibly excited to begin offering our services to families living in the County of Brant, thanks to our partnership with Hockey Night in Brantford and strong support from across the Brant community,” said Stan Worosz, President of the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund. “Kids living in the County will now have greater access to the benefits and the enriching experience of organized sport, and the opportunity to pursue their athletic dreams and follow in the footsteps of local role models like Adam Henrique and Zac Dalpe.”

A recognition of the Brantford Ice Cats, who this year took home the Esso Cup at Canada’s national women’s midget ice hockey championships in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, will round out this year’s HNIB celebrations.

To kick off this year’s fundraising efforts, Empire Homes stepped up once again as the event’s title sponsor with a significant contribution of $20,000. Today it was announced that Millards Chartered Professional Accountants and Patriot Forge have joined as major sponsors, each making a contributing $10,000.
